Annette Badland

Annette Badland received an Olivier Award nomination for her role in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice at the National Theatre. Directed by Sam Mendes and starring Pete Postlethwaite and Janew Horrocks, the show won the Olivier Award for Best Comedy before transferring to the West End where Annette reprised her role. Annette has performed in repertory seasons with the RSC in both Stratford and London and most recently worked with the renowned Peter Hall Company and their productions of Measure for Measure and Habeas Corpus at the Theatre Royal Bath.

An experienced screen actress, Annette recently appeared in Tim Burtons box-office hit Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Valiant, alongside Rickey Gervais and Ewan McGregor. She played the lead in the Oscar-winning short Syrup and also took a leading role in The Knickerman (LA Film Festival Winner 2005). Annettes other film work includes roles in the BAFTA-nominated Twenty Four Seven with Bob Hoskins, Terry Gilliams Jabberwocky and the Golden Globe-winning Little Voice.

Annettes recent television credits include the new Doctor Who (BBC ONE) and the BAFTA-nominated Casanova (BBC ONE). She also starred in four seasons of Cutting It (BBC ONE). Previous credits include Poirot (ITV1), Miss Marple (BBC ONE), Judge John Deed (BBC ONE) and four series of Bergerac (BBC ONE). Annette also has a long list of radio credits, including the lead in Oddbody which ran for three series, Return of the Native and The Archers, all BBC Radio 4.
