Rhona Cameron
Rhona Cameron is a leading comedian, writer and actress. Since winning Channel 4's So You Think You're Funny Award in 1992, she has become a household name touring the UK, Australia and New Zealand and since 1993, has had sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. 2000 saw her first sitcom series, Rhona, written by and starring the comedian, air on BBC TWO. This was followed by a live stand-up tour during which her gigs at the Bloomsbury Theatre were recorded for DVD.
Memorably, Rhona took part in ITV1's BAFTA Award winning I'm A Celebrity - Get Me Out Of Here in 2002. Watched by over 12 million viewers, she was awarded the Best TV Reality Moment 2002 for her contribution. She has made numerous appearances on leading comedy programmes including Have I Got News For You (BBC TWO), The Stand Up Show (BBC ONE), Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC TWO) and Saturday Live (ITV1). She has co-hosted four series of BBC TWO's pioneering Gaytime TV in addition to presenting Top Of The Pops (BBC ONE), a spoof awards shows The Luvvies (LWT) and Rhona's Rudest Videos (Granada).
Rhona is an established theatre actress. In 2002 she joined the West End cast of The Vagina Monologues at the New Ambassadors Theatre and has toured nationally with The Rocky Horror Show.
Her first autobiographical book - 1979: a big year in a small town - was published by Ebury Press in 2004. She has spent the past 18 months working on her debut novel, which will be published in early 2007. She is currently working on several other writing projects, including a play for the 2007 Edinburgh Festival.
